Sykari & Sean's Engagement Session in Downtown Dallas

Sykari & Sean are in the midst of planning their wedding for next summer. But they made time to capture this unique moment of their story that will never ever come around again. If you think about it, you're married for a lifetime, but you're only engaged once and that period can go by so fast!

1. Tell us who you are, and what you're most looking forward to about being married to each other.

We are the soon-to-be the Richardsons! Sean is in medical device sales and Sykari is a Registered Nurse working in an administrative capacity. We met at Xavier University of Louisiana and had the same major (biology premed). We went our separate ways after graduation and reconnected in 2017 via social media. We have been inseparable ever since someone slid into someone else's DMs! ;-)

We like to work out in the gym and play tennis together. And we enjoy trying new places, although Sykari will choose the same menu item at every place! We look forward to traveling the world and enjoying the beautiful earth that God has blessed us with. And we are looking forward to growing and raising a family together and taking our little one(s) on the adventures with us!

2. When was the last time either of you had professional photos taken, and how did it feel having your engagement photos taken?

Last year, Sean hired a professional photographer to photograph and video his surprise proposal. We felt like the stars of the show during our engagement shoot with Amber!

We were nervous about rain since it was an outdoor shoot! Sean actually ordered a bowtie weeks in advance but it never showed up. Yikes! So, the day before, he was out in multiple stores searching for an unusual color bowtie, BROWN! It was SUPER hard to find as brown bowties are like nonexistent. He eventually found one that matched perfectly. Our engagement shoot turned out great!

3. What vision did you have for your engagement session? And how did you go about bringing it to life whether through your style, location or something else?

Our vision was to be formal with a touch of sexy! We wanted classic photos that we could cherish and admire for years to come. It was much different than our previous photoshoot (Sean's proposal) because Sykari was able to go all out with getting her hair done, nails done, and even her makeup done by her bridal MUA, Rhonda Collins. This is definitely not our go-to look, but we do enjoy the occasional formal event to show up and show our style! We chose our attire but Amber made it top-notch by suggesting the area around the opera house!

4. Why were engagement photos important to you both, and what do you plan to do with them?

Engagement photos were important to us because we will never be engaged again. We want to enjoy each season of our relationship and we will have these special photos to look back on to relive the memories. We plan to use the photos for our Save The Dates, our wedding website, as photos at our reception, bridal shower & in our new home together.
